All you need to do to enter is to leave a comment on this blog, briefly outlining your plans for your garden in 2021. Scroll to the bottom of this page to comment (your email address won't be published). You’ll also need to be a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter to be a winner, so if you're not already signed up, fill in your email address in the grey band right at the bottom of this page. You can unsubscribe at any time if you don’t enjoy our monthly updates.
Your plans for your 2021 garden might be simple - ours is to plant more white flowers in the wildlife bed, to keep the all-day buffet going after dark so the moths can enjoy it too. You may want to grow more of your own fruit and veg next year, or branch out into new and unusual crops. Perhaps you have your eye on trying some heritage varieties of familiar favourites.
Or you might have grander plans - a new greenhouse, perhaps, to accommodate the ever-growing plant population in your garden. Or perhaps grander still, if you're lucky enough to have the space to play with - maybe a wildlife pond, landscaping a terrace on a gradient, or planting a copse of native trees... Whatever gardening vision you see in your mind's eye, we'd love to hear about it!

The winner will be chosen on the basis of the most inspiring gardening plans for 2021 and the judges’ decision will be final. One winner will receive one (1) pack of gardening tools from Burgon & Ball, either the Avid Allotmenteer of the Gorgeous Gardener prize as outlined above. Prize draw opens at 00:01 on 28/12/2020 and closes at 23:59 on 03/01/2021. Winner will be contacted by Burgon & Ball shortly after the closing date. Employees of Burgon & Ball and their family members aren’t eligible to win. One entry per person; entries created by a bot or a service that automatically enters participants are not eligible to win. My husband has just built me 3 raised veg boxes as I cannot kneel and for Christmas he bought me 3 Burgon & Ball long handled tools, so I can’t wait until I can plant out vegetables and manage them properly. I have started already with some onions and looking forward to putting down some seedlings for tomatoes, squash, chilies, etc. Exciting times ahead for a novice gardener!
All started with first lock-down when I decided to clean out old greenhouse and plant some toms & chilies!

In the new year i am hoping to revamp my garden to ensure that it is more user friendly for me. I will also be celebrating a significant birthday, in conjunction with that and the memory of family members who have passed away over the last few months. I hope to plant a fruit tree. A tree has roots which eventually will lead to several branches, in the same way a family has several branches.
Well, this is a difficult one because I’m hoping that we might move house in the coming year! If we do I want a south(ish) facing garden, I would like hedges, fruit trees, climbers, perfumed of course and a vegetable patch. Big enough to be useful but not too big to cope with, we’re not getting any younger are we. At the moment we’re north-east facing, pretty cold and miserable. Fingers crossed we get a move this year! Oh, I did put some cloches on my veg patch hoping to deter the cats, mine and the neighbours, but seems that our little cat is very pleased with the covered space now, she doesn’t get too muddy when she, ahem, “digs” there.
I got a new greenhouse for my birthday, so very excited to get started growing in Spring. Helped by my son 11, who is obsessed with gardening.
Saved lots of veggie seeds last year to grow and want to plant some climbers for new trellis.
