THIS GIVEAWAY HAS NOW CLOSED

How to enter

All you need to do to enter is to leave a comment on this blog, briefly outlining your plans for your garden in 2021. Scroll to the bottom of this page to comment (your email address won't be published). You’ll also need to be a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter to be a winner, so if you're not already signed up, fill in your email address in the grey band right at the bottom of this page. You can unsubscribe at any time if you don’t enjoy our monthly updates.

Your plans for your 2021 garden might be simple - ours is to plant more white flowers in the wildlife bed, to keep the all-day buffet going after dark so the moths can enjoy it too. You may want to grow more of your own fruit and veg next year, or branch out into new and unusual crops. Perhaps you have your eye on trying some heritage varieties of familiar favourites.

Or you might have grander plans - a new greenhouse, perhaps, to accommodate the ever-growing plant population in your garden. Or perhaps grander still, if you're lucky enough to have the space to play with - maybe a wildlife pond, landscaping a terrace on a gradient, or planting a copse of native trees... Whatever gardening vision you see in your mind's eye, we'd love to hear about it!

  • We only have a small patio style garden with our terraced house but we aim to grow as many vegetables as possible this year, with potted herbs under the kitchen window for easy access. Really looking forward to growing some produce and making 2021 a more positive year.

  • I have an allotment and decided in the Autumn to give no dig, recycle reuse and wildlife first a go. I went to the local Rec yard and have bought up a load of old plastic UPVC boardings I will make 6 raised beds, 3 tons of manure that the farmer said had to go now I took and will shift that to the beds and open areas. I have been collecting squash bottles and intend to make walls (eventually I will have enough for a ‘shed’ with a roof for delicate plants in the winter). I have bought some special heritage seeds and plan to make 50% of the allotment nectar rich flowers for the bees) I have a pallet to create a new bug hotel with hedgehog retreat at the bottom) and for my solitary bees I shall install small converted birdhouses for them to nest in (using hollow tubes). A local electrical company has thrown out wooden reels that I have painted and they will be our table and chairs for my Grandchildren, now I am planning on the crops rotations for spring. Phew that should keep me busy lol

  • Gardening has saved me this year after being furloughed since March and there being no end in site. We moved into our first home in October 2019 and I’ve made a great start in the garden. This year my goal is to stencil my patio, buy a flamingo tree in memory of my grandad and start a vegetable patch for yummy treats for both me and my pet tortoise Albert!
