THIS GIVEAWAY HAS NOW CLOSED

How to enter

All you need to do to enter is to leave a comment on this blog, briefly outlining your plans for your garden in 2021. Scroll to the bottom of this page to comment (your email address won't be published). You’ll also need to be a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter to be a winner, so if you're not already signed up, fill in your email address in the grey band right at the bottom of this page. You can unsubscribe at any time if you don’t enjoy our monthly updates.

Your plans for your 2021 garden might be simple - ours is to plant more white flowers in the wildlife bed, to keep the all-day buffet going after dark so the moths can enjoy it too. You may want to grow more of your own fruit and veg next year, or branch out into new and unusual crops. Perhaps you have your eye on trying some heritage varieties of familiar favourites.

Or you might have grander plans - a new greenhouse, perhaps, to accommodate the ever-growing plant population in your garden. Or perhaps grander still, if you're lucky enough to have the space to play with - maybe a wildlife pond, landscaping a terrace on a gradient, or planting a copse of native trees... Whatever gardening vision you see in your mind's eye, we'd love to hear about it!

  • More butterfly and bee friendly plants /flowers and veg next year. Hoping to incorporate a seaside theme with a lighthouse. ropes and a small boat full of planting. This will also have bunting that I shall sew and some new lighting displays. My garden was my saviour throughout lockdown last year and helped me and friends with swapping plants and produce during the year and also giving chutneys etc for Christmas presents. Also shared sunflower seeds etc in the spring that cheered us all summer and gave the squirrels, birds extra food with their seeds. LOVE MY PLOT (PLOTTING to come)!!!!xxx

  • I moved from having a 🏡big garden🌳🌳 to having a 🏢large balcony on the sea🌊 front, 🤔So it’s going to be a learning year of what i can grow in pots🪴🪴 by the sea🌊🌊, plus i want to see if i can still bring on cuttings🌱 without having a greenhouse.

  • Improve our home grown yields from the raised beds and greenhouse and work on the boring areas of poor quality lawn – more pollinator friendly plants I think

  • This year I reorganised a large flower bed by taking out two shrubs that were old and in the wrong place and replanted with plenty of perennials. 2021 I wish to do the same for another large bed. I have a shrub I wish to move further back this coming Spring and to reorganise the planting so it can be viewed from three different angles. Maybe a few extra perennials in that bed as well.

  • My first proper glass greenhouse has just been delivered, so I am hoping to successfully grow aubergines this year after several failures. Also hoping for earlier crops of tomatoes, and more flowers for cutting. I plan to grow lots of lettuce, cucumbers, courgettes and – with luck – potatoes – which were affected by blight in 2020. I I love to share any excess veg with neighbours and family, and make jam and chutney in the summer. The start of a new growing year is always exciting! I would love a Gorgeous Gardener prize, please. Thank you!
