How to enter

All you need to do to enter is to leave a comment on this blog, briefly outlining your plans for your garden in 2021. Scroll to the bottom of this page to comment (your email address won't be published). You’ll also need to be a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter to be a winner, so if you're not already signed up, fill in your email address in the grey band right at the bottom of this page. You can unsubscribe at any time if you don’t enjoy our monthly updates.

Your plans for your 2021 garden might be simple - ours is to plant more white flowers in the wildlife bed, to keep the all-day buffet going after dark so the moths can enjoy it too. You may want to grow more of your own fruit and veg next year, or branch out into new and unusual crops. Perhaps you have your eye on trying some heritage varieties of familiar favourites.

Or you might have grander plans - a new greenhouse, perhaps, to accommodate the ever-growing plant population in your garden. Or perhaps grander still, if you're lucky enough to have the space to play with - maybe a wildlife pond, landscaping a terrace on a gradient, or planting a copse of native trees... Whatever gardening vision you see in your mind's eye, we'd love to hear about it!

  • Our front garden is 8m x 2m and in full sun. This year our project is to make this into a bold and colourful yard for all the neighbours to be jealo…I mean enjoy :) We aim to keep as much grass and help wildlife. It’s going to be a challenge combining both ideas but with more time on our hands because of tiers and lockdowns this will help us physically and mentally. Happy new year! ( I’ll send a photo hopefully if we’re bold enough!

  • Can’t wait to get back into my garden. I have an area along side newly laid decking that is my goal for 2021. I plan to had height and colour in that area of the garden with evergreen shrubs, couple of thin firs and underplant with colourful perennials that give the most amount of colour during the year. I’ve got my gardening books out and am busy looking through choosing the plants I think will thrive there.

  • I have some great plans for 2021 which start with moving home, which comes with a marvellously unkempt small front and rear garden. I shall be cutting back growth like an explorer in a jungle to see what garden relics, plants and features are hidden under all the vegetation. A new start, a blank slate and a willing heart to start 2021. I am looking forward to the hard work.

  • 2021 will be the year to sort out the front garden to give our home more kerb appeal, make the area easier to maintain. and bring a smile to everyone who walks up the path to our front door!

  • I am hoping to grow even more fruit and vegetables next year by increasing the size of my 2 vegetable plots and digging in lost of manure and home-made compost. I also want to sort out the lawn and get rid of most of the moss from it. I don’t mind the wild flowers growing there but the moss is very destructive!
