How to enter

All you need to do to enter is to leave a comment on this blog, briefly outlining your plans for your garden in 2021. Scroll to the bottom of this page to comment (your email address won't be published). You’ll also need to be a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter to be a winner, so if you're not already signed up, fill in your email address in the grey band right at the bottom of this page. You can unsubscribe at any time if you don’t enjoy our monthly updates.

Your plans for your 2021 garden might be simple - ours is to plant more white flowers in the wildlife bed, to keep the all-day buffet going after dark so the moths can enjoy it too. You may want to grow more of your own fruit and veg next year, or branch out into new and unusual crops. Perhaps you have your eye on trying some heritage varieties of familiar favourites.

Or you might have grander plans - a new greenhouse, perhaps, to accommodate the ever-growing plant population in your garden. Or perhaps grander still, if you're lucky enough to have the space to play with - maybe a wildlife pond, landscaping a terrace on a gradient, or planting a copse of native trees... Whatever gardening vision you see in your mind's eye, we'd love to hear about it!

  • Looking forward to early Spring next year to hopefully see the rewards of my planted Japanese inspired top garden with colourful Acers; Azaleas; Camellias; Rhododendrons etc under the blossom of an existing Cherry Tree.
Also planted a Wisteria (Japanese) in a large pot to climb up trellis and cascade over the Loggia hopefully to flower within the next few years with pinnacle stems (light mauve).
Cannot wait to sit under the canopy and take in the enjoyment and scent of the garden for a new year of hope and peace around the world.

  • We have just moved to a new house, so my gardening plans for 2021 need to start with learning all about the soil and light we get in our new garden! I would like to continue vegetable gardening like we did last year, but also bring a pop of colour to the front of the house with some floral containers.

  • Planning to weed the allotment more and make sure my husband doesn’t plant too many tomatoes this year!

  • After moving into a house with a 170-180ft garden in spring thsi year, the 1st task was to clear the weeds, brambles and nettles as the garden was very overgrown. 20% of this is still to do. In 2021, the pond, which is dug, will have water and fish added to it. There will be a chicken coop going in with 3 chickens. I have some stones that I will be building a mini stone circle with. Two new raised beds. A little sun house will be installed in the area which is surrounded by trees and shrubs. New fence down one side. Veg and herbs to be grown again. I do that every year. Red currant bush to be planted. I’d also like a blue berry plant.

  • I’m planning on opening the garden up a bit, cutting down the overgrown hedges either side and letting more light in so I can enjoy the space more in summer.
