Gift of the Year: awards recognition from the experts in giftware

We’re very excited to learn that no fewer than five of our new ideas for gardening gifts have been shortlisted in the prestigious Gift of the Year Awards. These awards are run by the Giftware Association, a leading name in the gift sector in the UK, and are generally recognised as having the expert’s eye for what makes a great gift – and our gifts have been put in the spotlight!

We’ve had success in these awards before, with our Love The Glove ladies’ gardening gloves, our Sophie Conran seed collections and our Buzz and Dotty children’s Kneelo® kneelers being mentioned in dispatches in recent years. It’s wonderful to know, however, that our new products are proving popular with the judges, too!

This year we’ve been recognised for the following gorgeous gifts:

British Bloom RHS Gifts for Gardeners collection. Gorgeous gifts for the green-fingered. A new collection in the RHS Gifts for Gardeners series, we’ve drawn inspiration from the RHS Lindley Library to create a dramatic design of dazzling dahlias and peonies – classic garden favourites which are once again firmly on trend, appealing to a range of age demographics. With gifts ranging from a lovely twine dispenser to gift sets of RHS-endorsed tools, there’s a gift here at a variety of key gifting price points, and the attention-grabbing colours have great impact in-store.

Houseplant Tools. Handy specialist tools for happy and healthy houseplants. With greenery making an appearance in every stylish home, these tools help everyone look after their plants – even people who are new to having houseplants. With a houseplant pruner, orchid snips, Japanese pruning scissors and a set of houseplant and terrarium tools, these tools make an ideal add-on sale, and offer further opportunities to retailers wanting to make the most of the surge in houseplant sales.

Indoor pots. Gorgeous indoor plant pots for the style-conscious home. If your customers love the trend for lush and leafy interiors, these pots are for you! Whether in understated neutrals or brighter accent colours, these pots offer a choice of patterns and textures, and beautiful subtle crackle glazes. There’s a pot for every plant – and every plant-lover.

Hanging pots. Aerial plants are the height of fashion. They’re a great way to add greenery to your living space in an unusual and eye-catching way – and these hanging pots are an easy way to get the look, with a beautiful selection of colours, textures and glazes. There’s even a macramé plant hanger and pot – a classic boho item that’s once again a must-have style statement.

Blade Edge Restorer. A must-have for every gardener. Sharp garden tools mean clean cuts when pruning, trimming or deadheading, which reduces the risk of infection and maintains plant health. This handy blade edge restorer features a super-carbide file to make it easy to keep secateurs, knives and shears razor sharp – and at under £10, it makes a perfect stocking-filler.

With a heritage in toolmaking going back to Sheffield in 1730, there’s no doubt that our gardening heritage grows on strong roots. Our collaborations with the world-famous Royal Horticultural Society and designer Sophie Conran of the Conran British design dynasty show that we take both stylish design and horticultural excellence very seriously indeed. And now this recognition from the experts in gifting has shown that our gorgeous gardening gifts hit the mark, too!

So if you’re looking to offer your customers the best very in gorgeous gardening gifts, these ideas could be a good place to find inspiration.
