Win a beautiful new border for a marvellous mum

THIS GIVEAWAY HAS NOW CLOSED

The days are lengthening, the spring flowers are peeking through, and of course, Mother’s Day is just around the corner, at the end of March. What could be a lovelier way of letting your mum know you’re thinking of her all year round, than treating her to a garden mini-makeover?

We’ve got together with our friends at Border in a Box to give away a garden border design kit of your choice. These clever kits provide the inspiration and the horticultural know-how to create a new border from scratch - just add plants! Mum can have a splendid new garden border to enjoy every day. It’s the perfect gift if she dreams of creating a gorgeous, luxuriant swathe of blooms to last the whole season. We’ll also add in a few of our planting and propagation essentials, to get things started.

The Border in a Box design kits have been created to easily and quickly create a professionally-designed border with the wow factor. Retailing at £24.99, each kit contains border designs, a plant list, seeds to scatter between plants to flower from spring through to autumn, and great tips on how to add extra interest to your border, to really put your unique stamp on it.

There are kits for different garden locations, such as Clay, Shady and Sunny. There are different styles, such as Contemporary and Cottage Garden. There’s a Butterflies & Bees scheme, full of pollinator-friendly blooms, and there’s even a Wellbeing design, packed with sensory planting in a calming mauve and cream colour palette. Whatever your mum’s taste, there’s a border here she’ll love.

To make sure there are plenty of plants to go into the gorgeous new border, we’re adding some propagation essentials to the prize. Our cell tray trowels are ideal for working with seeds and seedlings, ready for growing on. Our Paper Pot Maker is a brilliant way to create an endless supply of paper pots from nothing more than old newspapers – ideal if you’re trying to cut down on plastic in the garden. And our wooden labels will help you keep track of what’s growing where, once it’s planted out in the new border.

Of course, it might be that you’re a marvellous mum yourself. In which case, you could suggest that if you supply the Border in a Box kit and the inspiration, your loved ones might like to supply the elbow grease!

It’s the perfect time of year to make a start on a new gardening project, so this year give your mum a gardening gift which will last for years.

Border in a Box design kits make perfect presents for all kinds of occasions. We think they’re an especially great idea as a housewarming gift! Find out more at borderinabox.com.

  • This would be a fabulous gift (that my kids could give to me!) I have been following Border in a Box for a while and now that our new build garden (in Pershore) has been transformed and the borders are waiting to be filled with beautiful plants, I’m itching to get started!

  • Being very new to gardening and having very limited gardening tools and little knowledge of what to plant and where, I am intrigued by the idea of border in a box. Also, having a blog like this providing such practical information will be so helpful. Something to tell my children about…………hint, hint! 😊

  • Would love to win Paper Pot Maker, as I do gardening in a Home. We could have hours of fun………
