Our perfect presents: Team Burgon & Ball's top Christmas gifts

A few years ago we wondered which of our tools, accessories and gifts our friends here at Burgon & Ball would like to find under their tree on Christmas morning. It’s quite a decision – there’s a lot of great ideas to choose from! You can read their answers here. This year we thought we’d revisit this question, but this time introduce you to a few different faces from around Burgon & Ball.

Read on for great gardening gift ideas from our lovely team!

Sarah, trade sales
I think any gardener would love to find a pair of Sophie Conran for Burgon & Ball secateurs under the tree on Christmas morning. They come in a lovely gift box, and they just look beautiful. They have a timeless design, and I like the touch of brass in the simple clasp. They’re the perfect size for smaller hands, which is great for me. I use mine constantly, they’re my go-to secateur all around the garden. RRP £32.99.

Nicola, senior national account manager
I’d choose to find the planting trowel from our new Collector range under the tree. I love my pots, they’re a great way to bring seasonal colour to my patio, and really easy to plant. The planting trowel is the perfect shape for pots, the broad blade is just right for scooping soil. I like the warm olive colour and the glint of brass on the ferrule. I just think this trowel looks a bit different, and it goes to show that a practical present can still look beautiful, too. RRP £11.99.

I’d hope to see a new pair of our Kneelo memory foam knee pads under the Christmas tree. I’m not what you’d call a gardener – I even managed to kill my snake plant! But I love my knee pads, and I’ve just about worn out my last pair. I find them really handy to wear when I’m doing DIY and working around the house. Painting, laying flooring, sorting out the attic… I find the knee pads easier than moving a kneeler around, and the memory foam is very comfortable on the knees. RRP £16.99.

Alison, finance manager
I’d wish for a dibber. I love my spring bulbs, and I like to have a bright burst of colour in the spring. My favourite spring flowers are daffodils, that wash of golden yellow after the winter is a real reminder that sunshine is on its way. I fill the front and the back garden with bulbs, and I plant into the ground, not in pots. Digging loads of holes for bulbs is pretty tiring, so a dibber would really make the job easier and faster. RHS-endorsed BoronGreen dibber RRP £9.99.

Leon, senior product development and design manager
I’d like to find the Growing Gardeners children’s spade under the Christmas tree this year. I just joined Burgon & Ball earlier this year, and I’ve been enjoying getting into gardening with my nine-year-old son. We already have the Growing Gardeners trowel and fork, and this year we’ve grown carrots, tomatoes, raspberries and blackberries. He’s not been so keen on eating the fruit and veg, but I’ve enjoyed it! Our pea harvest was a failure this year, so we want to try that again. The spade would help us do more growing together next summer. RRP £22.99.

Sophie, accounts assistant
I’d have to say, I’m not much of a gardener, but we do have some houseplants, so I find my RHS FloraBrite Fruit and Flower snip really useful. My eight-year-old son was desperate to get a Venus fly trap, I use my snips to snip off any dead bits which appear. I love the neon colour of these FloraBrite snips, I think a bit of pink really cheers things up. And they’re just generally great to use all around the house, they’re much sharper than scissors. RRP £13.49.

Kate, product developer
I love our Collector indoor watering cans, I think the colours are just beautiful. I’d love one to use for my houseplants. I have a Chinese money plant that needs some careful watering, and these little cans are so precise, they’re just ideal for succulents. My kitchen is painted in French grey, and the olive green one would look beautiful in there. RRP £14.99.

We hope that our team's favourite gift ideas have offered some inspiration, whether you're giving or receiving. Have a wonderful Christmas, ready for a great year of gardening ahead!!
