Make Dad's day: Father's Day gift guide 2025

Father’s Day is coming up fast – this year it’s on 15 June. So it’s really time to get organised with a little something to show him how much he means!

If you’re finding that this deadline puts the pressure on, don’t worry – we’re here to help. They say that men can be difficult to buy for, but if the man in your life is a gardener, the search is made considerably easier.

We have plenty ideas to help celebrate his love for everything gardening this Father’s Day – as well as earning yourself some serious brownie points.

Of course, if you’re a dad yourself, you may want to make sure that this year Father’s Day brings you something you actually want for your gardening. If this is the case, feel free to direct your loved ones to the below for a little gift inspiration…!

Here are our top picks for Father’s Day gifts 2025.

BoronGreen digging spade (above). New for this year, our new BoronGreen range offers plenty of choices if Dad loves a no-nonsense present. The metal in the tool heads is boron steel which is stronger, tougher and more durable than high carbon steel. Even better, the steel is made from 80% from recycled material, and the handles are responsibly sourced FSC© timber. So he can help the planet while he tends his patch! The range has RHS endorsement and comes with a 25 year guarantee too, so you know you’re buying a quality tool which will last.

Dig The Glove gardening gloves. You can’t go wrong with a smart new pair of gardening gloves! Our Dig The Glove range features classic and comfortable fabrics like tweed, denim, and corduroy. Each design is available in a choice of sizes for a good fit. Padded palm and fingers protect the hand, and mesh fourchettes (that’s the material on the side of each finger, joining the front to the back of the gloves) keep things nice and cool. A wrist strap prevents debris dropping into the glove, and real leather trim adds a touch of luxury. These gloves are a cut above in the style stakes!

Corona anvil action ratchet pruner. This range of high-performance tools from the USA is known for its durability and reliability. In North America it’s a name that’s trusted by keen gardeners and professional landscapers alike, so you know that you’ll be giving a Father’s Day gift which will stand up to some pretty robust treatment. This heavy duty ratchet pruner was awarded ‘Best Buy’ by Gardeners’ World which rated the powerful cutting action, comfortable handles and four-stage ratchet action. If Dad likes to do a proper job when it comes to pruning, this is this the perfect gardening gadget for him.

Collector range Greenhouse Caddy. Whether in the greenhouse, garden or shed, this new greenhouse caddy his perfect for pottering! Dad can use it to store his essential bits and bobs like string, labels, pencil, snips, ties, and even hand tools. They’ll always be tidy and to hand, and perfectly portable if he likes to wander as he works. In a timeless heritage green – or British Racing Green, if you prefer - this greenhouse caddy is more than smart enough to leave out on show.

RHS-endorsed short-handled perennial spade. For dads who like to have the right tool for the job at hand, this recent addition to our range of RHS-endorsed stainless steel tools is a real beauty! Ideal for digging while kneeling, this short-handled perennial spade offers great grip and powerful digging if Dad likes to get up close to his plants. It’s brilliant for digging using a stab-down-and-scoop-towards technique, moving soil quickly and efficiently. It’s perfect to use with raised beds too, extending reach to avoid working at an awkward height. With a lifetime guarantee, this eye-catching and extremely practical tool is a real treat to use.

Waterfall watering can. This spring was the driest for 50 years, and the hottest on record, said the Met Office recently. If Dad’s concerned about keeping his garden green this summer, help him to water wisely with our sturdy Waterfall watering can. It’s available in a 5L size or the full 9L (2 gallons), and a choice of colours – either the classic Heritage Green to match the Greenhouse caddy (above) or the new Truffle, a soft shade of browny grey/taupe/greige. We’re not sure what to call it exactly, but we like it very much! Help Dad beat the inevitable hosepipe ban this year with one of these handsome watering cans.

Everyone loves a practical gift, but ‘practical’ doesn’t have to mean ‘dull’! Inspire Dad to enjoy his garden even more this year, with a stylish but very useful gift to help him hit the gardening heights.
